The former interim champion of the ultimate fighting championship (UFC) lightweight Tony Ferguson suffered a broken orbital bone in a fight with compatriot Justin Gati. Reported by CBS Sports.
The athlete was hospitalized after the fight, which took place on may 10. Ferguson missed out on a lot of heavy blows, under his right eye he had a laceration and hematoma.
36-year-old Ferguson Gati lost by TKO in the fifth round of the fight. His opponent won the interim belt of the champion of UFC in the lightweight division. Ferguson paid tribute to the opponent, calling Geti “good fighter”.
The last time Ferguson was lost in 2012. The American then lost the judges ‘ decision to countryman Michael Johnson. Unbeaten Ferguson totaled 12 wins. This is a record in his weight class.
