The head of the ultimate fighting championship (UFC), Dana white admitted that he shared the blame for the failure of the fight the Russian Habib Nurmagomedov and American Tony Ferguson. He told this in an interview with BT Sport.
White stressed that the situation surrounding the UFC 249 were changed every day. “Habib stuck in Russia — fighter did not dissemble. None of us imagined that it would come to this,” said the promoter.
He added that he shares the responsibility for the failure of the fifth of the match, Ferguson and Nurmagomedov. “We’ve all taken some wrong decisions,” he said.
May 6, Nurmagomedov said he will be able to return to the octagon this summer. According to white, a likely rival Russians will be the winner of the battle of Ferguson and Justin Gati.
UFC 249 was moved to may 10. The tournament will lead the fight to Ferguson and Gati. Also at the event will be the Russian heavyweight Alexey Oleinik.
