Two-time Olympic champion in speed skating Lee Seung-Hoon was suspended from the national team of South Korea for violence against two partners. This was reported by Yonhap.
The athlete was disqualified for one year. It is reported that he repeatedly used force against two skaters. This happened in 2011, 2013 and 2016 in the hotel, restaurant and during international competitions. Victims of beatings testified against the champion, which was found to be sufficient for its removal.
31-year-old Lee Seung Hoon denies the allegations. It is noted that he may appeal the decision of the national Federation.
Lee Seung Hoon won two Olympic gold medals (last time — at home Games in Pyeongchang in 2018), also on account of his three silver medals. World Championships athlete, one-time champion, twice took the second place and once third.
